Husband and Father
Chris and his wife Nikki, married in 2003 and have raised 5 amazing kids together (Christopher, Madison, McKenna, Mayleigh, and Canyon) and have called Clarksville home for more than 25 years. As a family, they attend Hilldale Baptist Church. All five of their kids attended CMCSS schools with three of them currently attending college! His commitment to his family and faith have guided his personal and professional life. Chris firmly believes that strong families lead to strong communities.
Army Veteran
With strong family ties to military service and patriotic values, Chris served his country in the U.S. Army from 2006 to 2013. His duty stations include Ft. Leonard Wood, Korea, Ft. Lee, and Ft. Campbell. During that time period, he deployed to Afghanistan with the 723rd EOD. The values and leadership gained while serving have reinforced his strong commitment to selfless service.
Teacher and Coach
With a high regard for education, he has earned a B.S. in History from APSU, a B.S. in Business Management from Bethel University, and an M.B.A. from U.T. Chattanooga. After leaving service, Chris partnered with Troops to Teachers to continue his public service. He has taught high school social studies for over 13 years, 11 of those years for Clarksville Montgomery County. He spent nine years teaching at West Creek High School and two years teaching at Clarksville High School, where he teaches Personal Finance. Throughout his career, he has been committed to helping young people develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life, careers, and financial decision-making. His commitment to the community extends far beyond the classroom. He served as a wrestling coach at West Creek High School for seven years and currently coaches with Team Clarksville Club Wrestling while also serving as an assistant wrestling coach at Clarksville High School. In fact, he has coached numerous sports for a combined 24 years!
Chris understands the challenges facing local families and is committed to providing responsible leadership that strengthens schools, supports smart growth, and protects taxpayer dollars for future generations.
